We've intentionally designed this experience to be fun and interactive with hidden clues all long the way. And, sometimes you might just need a little nudge to keep you headed in the right direction.
Use this website to help you get unstuck as you work through your explorers box. This should only be used as a last resort. Before getting a hint here, see if Conrad can help first.
The dropdowns below are designed to give you only one hint at a time. That way the experience continues to be a fun challenge!
Make sure to enter the code on the side of the lock with the beveled indicator line. This is where the numbers need to align. You know you are looking at it correctly if the button to open it is on the left, as pictured here.
Conrad is here to help, and yet you might not always know where to find him! Here are a few clues to help you "text a friend" for a helpful hint along the way.
CONRAD CAN BE TEXTED AT 970-447-1500At the bottom of the last page of the letter is the special code to text to Conrad for help at this stage. That code is CONRADADVENTURE.
Look closely on the bottom of Amy's recipe card. You will find the code CONRADSAFE.
At the very bottom of the page in the footer, you'll see the code.
CONRADSTEW
We thought we'd make this one a bit more difficult to find. Look in the postcard's stamp. Do you see it?
The code is CONRADELIZABETH
Just under Elizabeth's welcome note to you is the code!
CONRADKAZURI
On the bottom of the letter from Elizabeth is the secret code.
CONRADBEAD
This one is a little tricky. On the last page in the image of the giraffes on the top, is the code embedded on the far right by the trees.
CONRADTREE
Again, we got a bit tricksy!
On page 2 of the letter from Amy, look at the monogram from her stationary letterhead. Notice anything different?
CONRADFINAL
Use the following dropdowns to get help with the specific section you're stuck on. These clues are in the order they should be pursued in the journey.
In the airmail letter from Amy, look at the end of the letter. She gives you three letters. Use both portions of the decoder wheel to decipher the corresponding combination for the safe.
Place the small decoder wheel inside the large one. Align the logo of Amy's letterhead and then find the combo.
KMT = 591 to open Safe Box
Use the invisible ink pen to shine the light on the cover of the book safe. You should find the phrase ROYCO written.
Royco are the special spice cubes used in the Thamani Stew recipe.
You will see on the bottom of Amy's one-page letter inside the book safe a URL with five blank spaces. The word ROYCO goes into those spaces. This leads to a website.
After you've read the site, watched the videos, and hopefully enjoyed your meal, you are ready for the next clue.
At the bottom of the ROYCO website you will find a verse from Isaiah. Read the verse together, and then use the numbers of the verse to open one of the locked treasure boxes.
There are three such locks, and the numbers show on both sides of the lock. Be sure to work from the side where there is a grooved line through the numbers to show you where to align them to open the lock.
The code to open the next lock is 648. You will need to try the locks to see which treasure box it opens.
The clue that got you here was the Isaiah passage about the potter and the clay. In this box is some molding clay. The next clue takes you to the next website where you will learn from Amy's friend named Elizabeth about a special Kenyan process of making beads.
On the front of the postcard is a URL with six blank spots.
On the back of the card are "The Big Six" Kenyan animals, along with the Kenyan flag. Use the circular decoders to determine the code.
The code is KAZURI and leads to the following website:
After learning about Kenyan bead-making, and hopefully making some of your own beads as well, you're ready to take the next step.
At the bottom of the webpage is one of Elizabeth's favorite verses. However, to make it a bit more challenging than the last code you found in the verse, you'll need to do a bit of searching for the code.
Look closely at Elizabeth’s apron. Embroidered there you will see the "address" the verse below. Matthew 6:26.
The code for the next lock is 626, which opens the little locked bag. Inside you will find a special gift and a note from Elizabeth.
Hopefully you like the ACTUAL Kazuri bead from Kenya! It truly is one-of-a-kind!
In the bag is a note from Elizabeth, and she mentioned the word "hummingbird." (it's underlined)
Also in the bag is a slip of paper with a URL. Plug in the word "hummingbird" in the blanks, and off you go!
After spending time listening and learning about this amazing Nobel Prize winner from Kenya, do a little deeper dive and learn about her foundation.
Along the way you have received a little baggie with a very small seed. It's actually an acacia seed! You've also received a small vial of water. It's time to plant something small that will grow into something truly majestic and beautiful.
Click on the link to the Poulard Foundation's Volunteer Guide for planting trees. Check out the instructions, because there's a little more involved in planting an acacia tree than you might imagine!
At the bottom of the second and third pages is a reference to the founder, Amy Grace Poulard. The first letters of each name are bolded = AGP.
Use the decoder to find the code AGP = 247.
This is the combo for the last treasure box.
Yes! There is one final clue.
In Amy's letter, she references a verse that includes the word "poetry" (which is underlined). There is also a URL on the bottom of the letter.
Head on over to that URL, and see what you can find!
Though the Thamani journey has officially come to an end, Amy has a LOT more for you to explore in the future. She will take you to many more lands, invite you to many more experiences, and introduce you to many more amazing people!
In total, there are 6 Restoration Explorer boxes for fathers and daughters. And this is just the first! Amy just couldn't help herself, and left you a little clue at the very very end...
Look at the image of the Kenyan flag. Notice any letters that stand out? You might want to save the letter "I" and "E" for a clue in the future!
Thanks for playing!
