Hello dear friend! Amy told me to expect a visitor...
My name is Elizabeth Matendechero and I'm thrilled you're here! I can't wait to share something that's close to my heart - I think you'll enjoy it AND it should help you on your journey.
I live in Nairobi, Kenya, and I have been making beads for decades. Kazuri beads to be exact. Amy and I wanted you to get to experience it as well. It's so fun! We put some clay in this journey for you and your dad to enjoy.
It's amazing what a little bit of raw clay can make, isn't it? I've put some videos below that will help instruct you on how to make some beads of your own.
Enjoy!
Elizabeth
CONRADKAZURI
Every day we get to make thousands of beads!
One of the things I love most is taking the clay and shaping it into something amazing. It reminds me of how God is...he makes everyone of us different and with purpose. You see, every bead is unique, and every bead is valuable. That's why they are called "kazuri!"
Here is a picture of our workshop. I love that I get to work with my daughter and granddaughter. Together we are changing lives...one bead at a time.
Every time Amy came to Kenya, she'd stop and visit. Did you know that every day, right in the middle of our work, we stop to sing, pray and remember that we too are God's Kazuri!
I sure hope you and your father have a good time making the beads! Amy told me about you, and I may or may not have something special for you...

Kazuri is the Swahili word for small and beautiful. Aren't all these beads amazing? Small and so beautiful.
